Getting started in research
Pitt is a major research university, so there are tons of opportunities to start gaining experience:
- Every department is conducting its own research. Ask yours about ongoing work.
- The Office of Undergraduate Research & Creativity offers introductory programs.
- The UHC Research Fellowship allocates funding for newer researchers.
The simplest way to start is by talking to your professors! Honors courses are small, so they're a great way to get to know faculty and their work. Some of the classes are even research heavy themselves.
